New time, team and location for the May 8th game. We are now playing Armstrong at New Hope South at 8:30 Pm.
Sleepover Summer Camp is being held this July and August Monday and Tuesday nights typically 8-9:30 pm at MGCC.
Osseo's Varsity coach's are leading the charge in an effort to tune the boys up for the season. This will be a very up tempo camp emphasising what it takes to compete at the top level.
The ice is scheduled with the exception of the last two weeks of August. There are16 sessions for a total of 22 hours.
They're a limited number of slots I have available. First's go to the fall MASH team. Second the spring MASH team. Third other Osseo Peewees. I expect all slots to be taken by Jan. 31st. This program is shared with the Lumberjack's team.
Price $160
Often players are trying just to get a shot on net when they need to create a scoring opportunity. If a players thinks; "I have three good choices."
1. Take the puck to the net, make the goalie move and shoot to score (see graphic).
2. Shoot for a rebound. Shoot from outside low on the stick or on the blocker side expecting to get a rebound. Avoid the bullseye on the goalie's chest protector. Often shooters aren't eithor waiting for teammates to get in position or aren't charging hard to the net after their shoot.
3. Use another player to make an assist. Teammates have to get open. Often players set up in the middle of the net or on the same side as the shooter. The goalie's going to win that battle 90% of the time. Set up on the far side of the shooter and between the goalie and the defensemen. If the puck is at the point, screen the goalie and tip the shot.
Player's have to be thinking all three options. Too many poor shots are being made.
Play like winners and you'll be winners. Play like you've never scored before and that's what will happen. Respect the goalie's and don't plan on a lucky shot.
Win the races....Pass with a purpose....Spread the ice
It only takes 50% effort to shoot on net, but 100% to create a scoring opportunity.
Goalies are good, earn their respect, make them move
Forward: Make triangles and pass to the points
Defense: One up one back, hold the zone, move the puck up ice
Skate to the puck!
