We are very excited to kick off this year's newsletter, but we need your help to continue to make this a success and a valuable and worthwhile tool for everyone. I am putting out a call for content and your submission of story ideas and features for the various sections.
This year we need for you to be proactive in providing us information for Coaches' Corner, Managers' Special, Team Spotlights and Tournament coverage and photos.
1.) Team managers, Board members, coaches and parents can submit story ideas/outline of what you propose you’d like featured or included in the newsletter. We’ll write the stories, all we need you to provide us are the contacts for us to talk to so that we can obtain additional information for the feature, if needed.
- Submit all story ideas and content to newsletter@omgha.com.
2.) The newsletter features the following sections.
– Team spotlight: Feature teams and their highlights. We encourage the team managers to work with parents in putting together a feature on their team and provide photos with captions, what is special and unique about the team, etc.? The editors will help in writing the articles, we just need the content. They don’t always have to be about winning a game but may be overcoming some obstacle, team building highlights, awesome plays by the team, etc. See Editorial Calendar for the spotlight focus.
– Coaches Corner: Feature different coach/coaches in each issue. We are asking for team managers to work with the coaches to fill out the Q&A and submit along with a photo. See Editorial Calendar for which level coach will be highlighted. Featured coaches will be based on submissions.
– Managers' Special: New this year, we are featuring a team manager(s) in each issue similar to the Coaches' Corner. We are reaching out to coaches to answer a few questions regarding the team manager(s) and the team managers to also fill out the Q&A.
– Events: Tournament coverage and upcoming schedules. Team managers will need to send in any tournament scores to Terry Gallagher on a timely basis to be included in the next month's issue. We also would like any fun/interesting highlights and photographs from the tournament to include in the newsletter.
– Announcements: Cover camps and clinics, concessions, MGCC ice events
– Board updates
– Community Involvement, Volunteer and fundraising
– Tips: Got a good tip for others? Share it with us.
