Osseo Maple Grove Hockey Association

Osseo Maple Grove Hockey Association (OMGHA) is the youth hockey association for kids that reside in the Osseo Highschool and Maple Grove Highschool boundaries. We are an assocation under USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey District Three. We have about 950 skaters in the association supporting about 60 boys and girls teams from mites (5 year olds) to Jr Gold/U19 (Highschool Kids).  Please contact support@omgha.com if you have any questions.

The OMGHA Board of Directors understands as a result of our recent restructuring, there have been a number of questions regarding logos and jerseys for the upcoming season.

JERSEYS: For the 2008-2009 hockey season all youth traveling teams will be provided (1) Osseo and (1) Maple Grove Jersey. Home and away designations will be decided later and will rotate between teams. All girls traveling teams will continue to wear the same jerseys issued in the past. House Teams (4 year olds, Mites and Supermites) will still receive one OMGHA Jersey as in years past.

LOGO: At the October Board meeting, the OMGHA Board of Directors approved a new logo which will be used for the 2008-2009 Hockey Season. All OMGHA teams are required to use the logo approved this month on all team apparel, signs and web pages. The logo may be personalized to each team by adding the "team name" under the hockey sticks or in the hockey puck. An option to using the logo is to use words/letters "OMGHA Hockey" with "team name" under hockey. The font must be copperplate gothic. Colors should be vegas gold with black or black with white depending on the basic apparel color. Teams are no longer allowed to pursue their own logos or variations of the OMGHA logo. The following exceptions are being allowed:

• Coaches: any coach on the bench during a game is allowed to wear a jacket displaying past Osseo and/or Maple Grove logos
• Girls program warm up suits: to honor the two-year commitment to the warm up suit, girls travel teams are allowed to purchase and wear the official girls program warm up suit for the 2008-09 season. The optional sweatshirt option will follow the new logo requirements.

Program Vice Presidents and Level Directors will be responsible for enforcing this new policy. The OMGHA Board feels it is important for our association to maintain a consistent identity similar to the other associations in District 3 and Minnesota Hockey. Any team that deviates from this policy will have their coaching staff suspended for two weeks and the Team Manager will forfeit the volunteer hours they are provided for being a Team Manager.

The Board intends to work over the course of the year on creating a new identity for the association and will likely announce a new logo, jerseys and colors some time this spring. Look for more information on how to get involved in this process through an e-mail blast later this fall.
