Shari Cardille - Hockey Mom of the Year!!!

A lot of deserving moms were entered into the Red Baron Salute To Hockey Moms essay contest, but in the end, there was only one winner.

Shari Cardille, of Maple Grove, took home the grand prize.

The top ten contestants will be rewarded with $1,000 donated in their name to the youth hockey association that their children belong to and royal treatment during a spa day.

As the top winner, Cardille will also get a $500 check card and an expense paid trip for two.

The women were nominated by family members and friends, who wrote essays explaining why their mother should win.

The mothers were judged on their commitment to the sport of youth hockey, including focus on family, time management, fundraising efforts and more.

The other nine finalists were Jill Aakhus of Osseo, Donna Graveline of Lakeville, Ruthann Kragh of Mankato, Kim Pederstuen of New Richmond, Lisa McNamara of Fosston, Sabina Miska of North Branch, Cindy Schaeffer of Savage, Jill Smith of Lakeville, and Chris Woltjer of Spicer

North Metro Stars Summer Girl’s Hockey Camp

June 10^th – July 30^th , 2008 - 7^th – 12^th Grade Girls

The camp will focus on individual skill development, primarily shooting, passing, stick handling, body positioning, positional play, skating, and conditioning.
